Sivenathi Nontshinga Is Fine After Car Accident, NO DOUBT Management Confirms

South African boxing star Sivenathi “The Special One” Nontshinga is fine after being involved in a car accident on Monday while on his way to the Hot Box Gym in Johannesburg.

The incident comes just days after the South African boxing fraternity was left mourning the untimely death of fellow boxer Zolani Tete, making the news of Nontshinga’s accident an understandably worrying development.

However, Nontshinga is safe, with his management company, NO DOUBT Management, confirming that both the boxer and the driver escaped injury.

According to NO DOUBT Management, Nontshinga was shaken by the incident but said he was grateful that nobody was hurt after a truck collided with the vehicle.

“I am fine, and so is the driver. G-D was watching over us. There was a truck that went into us. I usually sit in the back, but today something told me to sit in the front,” Nontshinga was quoted as saying by NO DOUBT Management.

Nontshinga’s coaches, Shannon Strydom and Colin Nathan, were at the gym when Nathan received a call from the boxer informing him about the accident.

“Yeah, it’s wild. My phone hasn’t stopped ringing. Thank G-D he is okay and nobody got hurt. Shannon and I decided that he take the day off and train tonight,” Nathan was quoted as saying by NO DOUBT Management.

The accident comes as Nontshinga enters the final stages of his training camp for a crucial IBF world-title eliminator against Regie Suganob in Bohol, Philippines, on 12 September.

The winner of that bout will move closer to another opportunity to fight for the IBF world title.

For now, however, the most important news is that Nontshinga and the driver are safe following the accident.
