Pirates Face Fired-Up AmaZulu as Betway Premiership Title Race Intensifies
Orlando Pirates return to action tonight in what promises to be one of the most compelling fixtures of the Betway Premiership round, as they travel to Durban to face an in-form AmaZulu side at the iconic Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Pirates also did exactly what was required in their previous outing. The Soweto giants secured a solid 2–0 win over Magesi FC, a result that kept them firmly in touch with the summit and ensured the pressure remains on Sundowns at the top.
As focus shifts to tonight’s showdown in Durban, Orlando Pirates assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi has acknowledged the quality of the opposition, while stressing that the Buccaneers have prepared thoroughly despite a short turnaround between fixtures.
“It’s a short turnaround, and we have to be prepared against a back three, against a top-four side that plays very well,” Ncikazi said when speaking to Orlando Pirates Media. “But we are there to get points, and we are prepared for such.”

Historically, Pirates have enjoyed the edge in this matchup. In the last five meetings between the two sides, the Buccaneers have claimed three victories, with the remaining two ending in draws, a record that may provide some confidence ahead of the clash.
