TS Galaxy Seal Historic Stadium Deal as Solomon Mahlangu Set to Host PSL Matches for Three Seasons
TS Galaxy have taken another significant step in strengthening their presence in Mpumalanga after signing a landmark three-year agreement that will see Premier Soccer League matches hosted at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium, in KwaMhlanga.
The agreement, announced by the Thembisile Hani Local Municipality, was officially signed on Tuesday, by Municipal Manager Dumisani Mahlangu and TS Galaxy President and Chairman Tim Sukazi.
The Service Level Agreement (SLA) will run for three seasons and enables Solomon Mahlangu Stadium to host selected TS Galaxy home fixtures in the Premier Soccer League, further elevating the venue’s status as one of Mpumalanga’s emerging football hubs.
Under the agreement, Thembisile Hani Local Municipality and the City of Mbombela will share hosting duties for TS Galaxy’s 2026/27 Betway Premiership home fixtures.
Solomon Mahlangu Stadium is scheduled to stage five league matches, while the remaining 10 home fixtures will be played in Mbombela. The arrangement applies exclusively to league matches, with cup competitions excluded from the agreement.
The hosting model follows a municipal council resolution adopted on 26 May 2026 after consultations involving the Mpumalanga Department of Culture, Sports and Recreation.
The final fixture schedule will be confirmed once the Premier Soccer League releases the 2026/27 season calendar.
The agreement follows extensive infrastructure upgrades at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium, which successfully staged four Nedbank Cup fixtures and one Premier Soccer League match during the 2025/26 season. The venue also hosted National First Division and Diski Challenge matches.

Beyond the action on the pitch, Thembisile Hani Local Municipality believes the partnership will deliver meaningful social and economic benefits for surrounding communities.
In announcing the agreement, the municipality said football remains a powerful platform for inspiring young people and strengthening communities.
According to the municipality, hosting PSL matches can contribute to reducing crime and substance abuse by keeping young people engaged in sport, while also stimulating local economic activity through increased tourism, support for small businesses and the creation of temporary employment opportunities on matchdays.
The municipality added that the fixtures will represent more than football results, serving as a source of identity, opportunity and community pride.
For TS Galaxy, the agreement represents a strategic expansion of the club’s footprint within Mpumalanga while maintaining its presence in Mbombela.
For Thembisile Hani, it marks the beginning of a new chapter as one of the province’s recognised hosts of Betway Premiership football.
