Zwane Rallies Sundowns Fans as Brazilians Face MC Alger in Must-Win CAF Clash
Mamelodi Sundowns captain Themba Zwane has urged supporters to come out in numbers this afternoon when the Brazilians host MC Alger in a crucial CAF Champions League Group C encounter.
The clash is a must-win for Sundowns as they push for qualification to the quarter-finals.
“Masandawana, we’re asking you to come in numbers against MC Alger. You know that we always need you behind us and whenever you are there, you always motivate us. We promise that we will do our best on the day. Thank you,” said Zwane to Sundowns Media.
Sundowns have been a consistent force in the competition, reaching the group stages for 10 consecutive seasons. However, Miguel Cardoso’s men head into the fixture amid off-the-field controversy following the suspension of a performance analyst accused of leaking tactical information to former coach Rulani Mokwena.
Mokwena has since dismissed the allegations as false.

The Brazilians are currently third in Group C with six points, two behind leaders Al-Hilal and one adrift of MC Alger.
A victory over the Algerian side could see Sundowns climb to the top of the standings, provided Saint-Éloi Lupopo take points off Al-Hilal in the group’s other fixture.
Kick-off is scheduled for 15:00 at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
