“It Wasn’t Easy” — Sebelebele Reacts After Pirates Run Riot in 6–0 TS Galaxy Demolition

Orlando Pirates may have delivered one of the most dominant scorelines of the Betway Premiership season, but winger Kamogelo Sebelebele insists Sunday’s 6–0 victory over TS Galaxy was far from straightforward.

The Buccaneers produced a ruthless attacking display at the Mbombela Stadium, overwhelming Galaxy from start to finish in a one-sided contest that sent them back to the top of the league standings.

Pirates controlled proceedings throughout, converting chances with clinical precision and leaving the hosts with no opportunity to recover. The emphatic scoreline reflected their superiority on the day, as Galaxy struggled to cope with the visitors’ intensity and movement.

The result ranks among Pirates’ biggest wins in recent seasons, alongside their 8–1 victory over Marumo Gallants and 7–1 triumph against Golden Arrows – further underlining their attacking firepower when in full flow.

Despite the margin of victory, Sebelebele – who faced his former club and got on the scoresheet – emphasised that the performance required discipline and concentration from the first whistle to the last.

“It was not an easy game,” Sebelebele said in a post-match interview with Pirates media.

“We came here on the back of a draw. We knew that if they couldn’t score against us, they wouldn’t be able to stop us for 90 minutes from creating chances. We kept pushing and managed to score a lot of goals.”

The winger also stressed that the title race remains far from decided.

“The league is not over. We still have eight games to go.”

The victory lifted Pirates to the top of the Betway Premiership table with 51 points from 22 matches, placing them one point ahead of Mamelodi Sundowns, who still have a game in hand.

With the title race entering its final stretch, every result carries added significance, and Pirates’ commanding win sends a strong message to their closest rivals.

Following the emphatic victory, Pirates will now pause for the FIFA international break before returning to league action on 7 April.

Their next assignment sees them host Lamontville Golden Arrows at the Orlando Amstel Arena – another crucial fixture that could shape the outcome of the Betway Premiership title race.

While the 6–0 scoreline grabbed headlines, Sebelebele’s comments highlight a more measured reality inside the Pirates camp: focus remains sharp, and the job is far from finished.
