“All Points Are Important Now” – Ncikazi Sends Clear Message Ahead of Crucial Magesi Clash
With the Betway Premiership title race entering a decisive phase, Mandla Ncikazi has stressed the importance of maintaining focus as Orlando Pirates prepare for a potentially season-defining encounter against Magesi FC tonight.
Pirates travel to the New Peter Mokaba Stadium knowing that victory could dramatically shift the balance in the race for the Betway Premiership crown.
Speaking to Pirates media ahead of the clash, Ncikazi emphasised that every point now carries enormous significance as the campaign approaches its closing stages.
“It’s the stage of the season where all points are important,” Ncikazi said. “Teams are looking for points for different reasons, and the opponents are in a similar stage.
“We just have to focus on our process, analyse, take the quality, discipline in the match, confidence will be important, and then get the points and proceed with the match.”
The Buccaneers head into the fixture full of momentum after an impressive 2–0 away victory over Stellenbosch FC in midweek.
That result gained even more significance after league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns were held to a draw by Kaizer Chiefs at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
As things stand, Pirates trail Sundowns by just two points – while still holding a crucial game in hand.
A win in Polokwane would therefore send Pirates to the top of the Betway Premiership standings, piling pressure on Masandawana as the title battle intensifies.
While Pirates are chasing league glory, Magesi are battling at the opposite end of the table.
The Limpopo-based side currently sits at the bottom of the standings after a difficult season that has yielded only 21 points from 27 league matches. With relegation concerns growing, every remaining fixture has become critical for the hosts.
That desperation could make tonight’s contest far more difficult than the standings suggest.
With one team chasing the title and the other fighting to avoid relegation, the clash at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium promises to carry enormous pressure for both sides.
Pirates will be determined to seize the opportunity to climb to the summit, while Magesi know a positive result could prove vital in their survival bid.
Kickoff is scheduled for 20:00 in Polokwane, where the latest chapter in the Betway Premiership title race could take another dramatic twist.
