“We Just Need to Win Our Games” – Onyango Sends Clear Sundowns Warning Ahead of TS Galaxy Clash

Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Denis Onyango has delivered a focused message ahead of tonight’s crucial Betway Premiership clash against TS Galaxy, insisting the league leaders cannot afford to lose concentration as the title race approaches its decisive stage.

Sundowns travel to the Mbombela Stadium for their final league fixture of the campaign, with kickoff scheduled for 19:30.

A victory for the Brazilians would take them to 71 points after 30 matches and extend their lead over second-placed Orlando Pirates to six points – although the Buccaneers still hold two games in hand.

Despite Sundowns’ strong position at the top of the table, Onyango says complacency is not an option as pressure continues to build in the closing stages of the season.

“Regardless of what’s happening around us in the league, we have to stay positive and believe that it can be done,” Onyango said in comments shared by Sundowns media.

“We can’t take any game for granted. We have to give our best in every game and see how far we can go. We can’t guarantee what other teams will do, but we just need to stay focused and win our games.”

The experienced goalkeeper’s comments underline Sundowns’ determination to control what they can in the title race, rather than becoming distracted by results elsewhere.

While Sundowns are chasing another Betway Premiership crown, TS Galaxy head into the encounter with survival firmly on their minds.

The Rockets currently occupy 12th place on the standings with 28 points from 28 matches. Although they remain outside the relegation zone, they are not yet mathematically safe and will view a positive result at home as potentially crucial.

Playing in front of their supporters in Mbombela, Galaxy will be eager to frustrate the defending champions and strengthen their position.

The clash carries major significance at both ends of the Betway Premiership standings.

For Sundowns, three points would tighten their grip on top spot and increase pressure on Pirates in the race for the title. For Galaxy, even a draw could prove valuable in distancing themselves from relegation danger.

With so much riding on the result, tonight’s showdown at Mbombela Stadium is expected to deliver intensity and drama from the opening whistle.

The big question now is whether Sundowns will take another decisive step toward the title – or if TS Galaxy can produce one final twist in the race.
