Sekhukhune United CONFIRM Eric Tinkler Exit, Masehe Takes Charge as Interim Coach
Sekhukhune United have officially confirmed the departure of head coach Eric Tinkler, bringing an end to days of speculation surrounding his future at the club.
In a statement released on Thursday, Babina Noko announced that they had reached a mutual agreement with Tinkler to part ways with immediate effect, concluding his 13-month spell in charge.
Tinkler, who joined the Limpopo-based side in March 2025 following his exit from Cape Town City, oversaw a period of steady progress. However, a dip in form in recent weeks appears to have played a role in the decision, with Sekhukhune recording just one win in their last five league matches, alongside two defeats and two draws.
Despite that run, the club remains competitive in the Betway Premiership standings, currently sitting fifth with 38 points from 25 matches as they continue to push for a strong finish.
“The club expresses its sincere appreciation for his professionalism and commitment during his tenure,” the statement read, acknowledging Tinkler’s contribution to the team’s development.

Stepping into the role on an interim basis is Paulus Masehe, who will now be tasked with stabilising the squad during a crucial stage of the season.
Sekhukhune United are back in action this Saturday, hosting Marumo Gallants at the Peter Mokaba Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 17:30.
With the speculation now settled and a new voice on the touchline, attention quickly shifts to how the team will respond under Masehe’s leadership in what promises to be a defining moment in their Betway Premiership campaign.
